Subdomains

Proving ownership by TXT, and what still has to happen after.

Serving the SDK from a subdomain of your own instead of ours.

Why do this#

A script loaded from a third-party domain is the first thing an ad blocker blocks. Serving it from fp.your-shop.com makes it first-party.

The process#

  1. Declare the subdomain on this screen.
  2. Add the TXT record it gives you to your DNS.
  3. Press verify. The system looks the record up and confirms ownership.

Verified is not yet live#

TXT verification proves you own the name. It routes nothing. The operations team still has to issue TLS on the edge and activate the host.

The screen states this rather than showing "done" and leaving you to discover a 404 on your script tag. Until the name is activated, keep your current script URL.

Name rules#

Subdomains are stored lowercase with Unicode labels as punycode. No wildcards: each name is its own entry with its own certificate.
